Growing up I didn't pay too much attention to politics. To be honest politics was hardly discussed. The importance of politics has only recently became glaringly obvious, and I know I am not alone. It didn't take me long to see exactly where I stand on this stage. I tried to be impartial at first. I gave both sides the same ear. However, it didn't take me long to find one side harder to listen too. The farther right I went, the more unbridled & selfish hate I found. The farther left I went the more Empathy & Compassion I found. Now, I understand the history of politics in America. I loved history in school and to this day. However, the political parties of today have changed from what they were when they began. Both parties have done horrible things and have found themselves on the wrong side of history. I don't care who is at fault. What I care about is, what are they doing to fix it! That being said, the far right have decided Hate, selfishness, greed, competition and unchecked power is the way we need to proceed. The far left believe that Love, compassion, selflessness, sharing, and cooperation are the way to go. I know this viewpoint is not popular to some, but just hear me out. What's the worst that could happen!?

Let me start by saying, I believe that all human beings deserve to live a comfortable life, and I believe our #1 priority should be to ensure all plant and animal life on earth are well taken care of. There is an old saying, 'you're only as strong as your weakest link.' If this is true then as a country we are only as strong as our homeless, hungry, incarcerated, immigrant and minority groups. Keeping that in mind. There is another saying, 'with great power comes great responsibility.' The meaning behind this one is simple. When you have power you can either use it to empower a specific group or everyone. The fewer people you empower the more you can gain. However, many others must suffer because of this. Why have we gotten to the point that gaining power at the costs of so many others is acceptable? I won't claim to have all the answers and I won't say I am 100% right on anything. What I will say is that I have seen and experienced a lot over the years and I have seen the best and worst the world has to offer. I know we can do better, but it will take drastic changes to society. How far are you willing to go to ensure a better today and a better future?
